Shadow Report on the Implementation of the Beijing Platform for Action in the Czech Republic (Beijing +15) Editors: Petra Kubálková, Tereza Wennerholm Čáslavská The ProEquality Centre of the Open Society, p.b.c. has released a new publication the Shadow Report on the Implementation of the Beijing Platform for Action in the Czech Republic (Beijing +15). The publication contains a summary of all 12 critical areas including the international level from the original extensive report Women and the Czech Society published in Czech language. The summary of the most important findings and conclusions is primarily intended for the foreign public and those interested in the state of fulfilment of the commitments in the area of gender equality in the Czech Republic.

Manuál pro vedení pracovně-právních sporů v oblasti rovného odměňování žen a mužů (Czech) Handbook for litigation of labour-law cases in the area of equal remuneration of women and men. Pavla Boučková, Michal Hubálek, Adam Křístek, Martina Štěpánková The handbook explains key conceptions of the subject (equal remuneration, equal work, work of equal value, direct and indirect discrimination in remuneration, employee, remuneration). Then it defines practical cases of direct and indirect discrimination in remuneration and possibilities to solve these cases in extra-judicial way. Next part of the handbook is dedicated to solving these cases per curium and describes single lawsuit stages of a case. The last part shows annotations case-law of the Court of Justice of the European Communities. The handbook is available here. |

Příručka pro genderově citlivé výchovné poradenství (Czech) Handbook for gender sensitive education consultancy The team of authors: Lucie Jarkovská, Petr Pavlík, Jana Valdrová, Lenka Václavíková Helšusová Chapter one defines a conception of gender and describes a meaning of a gender perspective of thinking about women and men. Chapter two is a brief survey of the areas of school life, where gender order plays its role. Following chapters are devoted to the vital parts for the leadership of schools: chapter 3 (curriculum and textbooks), chapter 4 (pedagogical communication), chapter 5 (pupils´ study styles and results, perceptions of the future), chapter 6 (school staff). Chapter 7 tries to clarify, what a principle of gender equality and equal opportunities for women and men mean within the education and what are the features of gender equality in schools. Chapter 8 concerns about a role of pedagogical consultancy in pursuit of gender equality in schools. The Final chapter 9 tries to inspire with how school management can deepen gender sensitivity and which measures to take in order to promote gender equality in a school of their own. Petr Pavlík, Ph.D. The Methodology is designed for regional authorities that mean their commitments to fulfil government priorities serisously and understand the crucial importance of gender equality for economic development of cities and villages. The methodology is a guide for gender audit in state administration, and thus for perception and evaluation of gender equality policy in terms of regional authorities. The audit aims to improve efectivity of offices and involves analyses of personal and institutional barriers, which may obstruct gender policy promotion. Metodika hodnocení kritérií nediskriminačního přístupu k odměňování mužů a žen za stejnou práci či práci stejné hodnoty pro zaměstnavatele (Czech) The Methodology for Evaluation of Standards of Non-Discriminatory Remuneration of Women and Men for Equal Work or for Work of Equal Value Pavla Boučková, Michal Hubálek, Adam Křístek The Methodology is aimed to introduce employers the principles of equal remuneration for equal work or for a work of equal value, without gender differences, due to law of European Community. Since the focal point of these legal regulations lies to a certain extent in a case-law of the Court of Justice of the European Communities, the methodology includes practical cases - analogies to practically solved problems as well. In the second part of the Methodology is a scheme of a procedure of how an employer can identify cases of work of a same value. This methodology advancement may serve for comparison of different work positions, where a work of equal value is performed and findings whether male and female workers are remunerated equally. The methodology contains different options of process to identify a work of equal value for companies with fewer than 50 employees and more than 50 employees, as well as practical tools that can be used for detection of direct and indirect discrimination in remuneration.
