Gender Equality (Otevřená Společnost)

Equal opportunities for women and men and the position that women and men hold in society is covered by a number of projects run by the Open Society. These aim to introduce as well as promote the principles of equal opportunities. Through projects intending to bring about changes in how pupils and students are educated at primary and secondary schools as well as universities, the Open Society strives to respond to the need to teach gender equality to younger generations; the Open Society's other activities have a direct impact on the decision making process and public administration as they bring confrontation with the official documents and reports in the Czech Republic while devising new instruments and methods that would contribute to more equal opportunities. Moreover, the Open Society is involved in several international projects - especially within the European region - and pursues active cooperation with partner organizations both inside and outside the Czech Republic.
