In July 2004, the Open Society initiated establishment of an association of legal entities, non-profit organizations solely, called the Forum for Integration (Forint). In correspondence with the general situation in the integration of socially excluded groups of people and reacting to poverty in the Czech Republic, Czech non-profit organizations dealing with these issues and interested in collaborating and coordinating their activities have thus been contacted and associated under umbrella organization.

The Open Society became coordination point and after successful registration of new entity in August 2004, cooperats with associaon members to design draft common policy. The official major tasks of the organization include eradicating poverty and social exclusion and other initiatives aiming to integrate disadvantaged groups into society. These are all issues that the member organizations of the association have ample experience with; furthermore, they have acquired excellent examples in their practical work which they would like to share and have them integrated into nationwide standards.

In order to fulfil its goals aiming to combat poverty and social exclusion, Forint represents the common interests of the member organizations, makes sure that all of them keep each other as well as the general public up-to-date with the latest news, cooperates actively with Czech state and local authorities, builds partnership with institutions combating poverty, cooperates with foreign entities, holds education projects and events, participates in and initiates the creation of standards and methods for social services.

Consisting of seven Czech non-profit organizations, Forint is open for other potential non-profit members complying with certain requirements. Any potential member has to be an organization proving that combating poverty and social exclusion and other initiatives aiming to integrate disadvantaged groups into society are a crucial part of its work.
